Ohio CNA applicants must submit to BCI and FBI fingerprint-based criminal background checks for certification with the Ohio Board of Nursing (ORC 4723.091, 109.572). These checks are required for licensing, nurse aide training programs, and employment in long-term care facilities, with BCI (state) and FBI (federal) reports sent directly to the board.
