PTA 101 - Intro to the Phys Therap Asst This course presents the history and principles of physical therapy. The roles and responsibilities of the physical therapist assistant in relation to the physical therapist as described by the American Physical Therapy Association is discussed. Vital sign assessment, draping, positioning, bed mobility, transfers, gait training, documentation, and infection control as performed by the physical therapist assistant are introduced. Laboratory sessions provide application of learned skills.
