Broadcast Media Technology Information

This is a two year degree that involves hands-on training in media broadcasting and radio operations. Students who complete this degree will gain skills in the fundamentals of editing, production, studio operations as well as audio and video techniques used in media broadcasting. An internship will complete the degree to prepare students for immediate employment in entry-level positions in the vast field of broadcasting.

Student Learning Outcomes
Student will be able to:
- Apply critical thinking, creative and analytical problem solving skills while learning about the broadcasting industry.
- Demonstrate technical skills in the operation of video, audio and lighting equipment.
- Demonstrate the ability to produce a live broadcasted spot for T.V. and Radio.
- Integrate basic audio, video and mixing skills into broadcast ready projects.
- Assemble a professional body of work demonstrating practical application of skills.
Career Interests
Graduates from this program will be prepared for entry-level or higher employment positions as production assistants, production support staff, production crew, audio engineer, camera operator, video editor, motion graphics, broadcast technicians and audio/video equipment technicians. Graduates work as employees of other production and recording companies or as free-lance professionals.
