Environmental scientists use their knowledge of the earth’s natural systems to protect the environment and human health. This concentration prepares students for transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental and occupational health, environmental policy, or other science related major. Students with this associates degree also may pursue technician-level employment in the environmental field.

Career Interests
A wide variety of career choices are available to students with a background in environmental science. Students pursuing this concentration may have an interest in environmental science, environmental policy and law, environmental health, occupational safety and health, environmental engineering, water quality and treatment, environmental remediation, emergency and disaster management, natural resource management, alternative energy and sustainability.
Transfer Information
Local universities such as Bowling Green State University, University of Toledo, University of Findlay, Heidelberg University and Lourdes University offer environmental science or related degrees. Transfer institutions may require different courses for this transfer program. Students should tailor their Owens program as closely as possible to the requirements at their four-year school of choice. Meet with an Advisor for more information.
