Information Systems Technology Information


Information Systems Program Mission is to provide a quality technical foundation to ensure student success in supporting business and industry.

Today, all business and industry rely upon computer and IT technology to conduct business and to operate efficiently. Information technology professionals utilize software tools to assist companies of all sizes and types achieve their goals by supporting their efforts.

This can include enhancing business systems, implementing and documenting new technologies, supporting users, and as key IT project resources. Between 2010 and 2020 Information computer technology professionals are among the career paths expected to have the most growth (12-18%), resulting in excellent job prospects. After graduation, students may seek employment or pursue transfer possibilities to earn a bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution.

Student will be able to:

  • Identify an Information Systems related problem, document and recommend a solution.
  • Demonstrate effective hands-on use of office application software.
  • Effectively communicate both orally and/or in written form with management, team members or customers.
  • Demonstrate effective research and documentation skills.
  • Recognize ethical, legal and socially responsible practices in the technology arena.
  • Install and maintain secure computer hardware and systems software.
  • Demonstrate knowledge for the support of applications hardware, and security.
