Insurance Certificate

The 6-class Insurance Certificate sequence is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in Ohio’s thriving insurance industry. The Insurance Certificate is a perfect complement for students who are already enrolled in majors such as the Business Management program. The certificate includes a new course, Introduction to Insurance (BUS 104 ). The course introduces the principles of insurance and risk management, including terminology and definitions as used in the industry.

Transfer Information

Students who wish to transfer to a four-year program in Insurance should consider the Business Transfer Concentration, AS (Owens Code: BUTC) .  The associate of science degree program provides the basic curriculum needed for the first two years of a bachelor’s degree in business.  This program is transfer-oriented and is ideal for aspiring business students who intend on transferring from Owens Community College to a college or university setting.
