Alternative Energy - Photovoltaic Technology Information

This program prepares students for careers in the area of electrical generation using solar photovoltaic technology. Students will be qualified to work in the areas of system design, installation, project management, sales, and site assessment in a variety of system sizes and configurations.

Student Learning Outcomes
Student will be able to:
- Be able to perform a solar site assessment.
- Design photovoltaic systems including string calculations and matching inverters to panels.
- Estimate the energy output of photovoltaic systems.
- Complete basic wiring of a photovoltaic system.
- Understand the different parameters that are important in residential, agricultural, community, and grid installations of photovoltaic systems.
