Program Goals and Outcomes


Program Mission

To prepare graduates as a Nutrition & Dietetic Technician, Registered for employment in food, nutrition and dietetic positions by providing a competency based academic program, which promotes service to the community and life-long learning.

Goal 1: The DTTP will support timely program completion and graduate passage of the Credentialing Exam for Nutrition and Dietetic Technicians through a competency based academic curriculum.

Objectives:

  • At least 80% of program graduates complete program/degree requirements within 3 years (150% of the program length of 2 years).
  • 75% of program graduates take the CDR credentialing exam for Nutrition and dietetic Technicians within 12 months of program completion.
  • The program’s one-year pass rate (graduates who pass the registration exam within one year of first attempt) on the DDR credentialing exam for Nutrition and Dietetic Technicians is at least 70% of a three-year period.
  • 80% of graduates rate competency-based learning activities as valuable in developing entry-level skills.

Goal 2: Graduates will be prepared for entry-level employment as a Nutrition and Dietetic Technicians, Registered.

Objectives:

  • Of graduates who seek employment, 75% are employed in nutrition and dietetics or related fields within 12 months of graduation.
  • 80% of employers state satisfaction with graduate’s preparation for entry-level practice.
  • 80% of graduates state the program prepared them for entry-level employment as a NTR.

Goal 3: Graduates will demonstrate professionalism, continuing education and service to the community.

Objectives:

  • 80% of employers’ state graduates demonstrate professional attributes in the work place.
  • Of graduates who did not seek employment as a NDTR, 50% are continuing their education.
  • 80% of graduates rate service learning as a valuable experience.
