Georgiann Berry, A.A.S., RT(R), Adjunct Faculty, graduated from Owens Community College in 1995 with an AAS degree, major in Radiography, and became a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon passing the credentialing exam. She is also licensed as a radiographer through the State of Ohio. She has been employed as a radiographer for a mobile x-ray company, an urgent care center, a private orthopedic surgeon’s office, and in the radiography department of a local hospital. She is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Georgiann teaches first year radiography labs as well as facilitating written and competency testing. She teaches lab lecture sessions for MIT 113. In addition she works closely with the Medical Imaging Department student group, Tomorrow’s Imagers. Georgiann is active with department committees and college activities and volunteers her time in the community serving on boards and committees.

Catherine Ford, M.Ed, RT(R), Dean, graduated from Owens Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree, major Radiography in 1979 at which time she became credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Catherine joined Owens Community College in 1982 and went on to complete Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies and Masters of Education degrees at the University of Toledo. She is a member of the Association of Educators in Radiologic Sciences and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. She is also a member of the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists where she has served as co-chair of the Education Committee and participated in revising the laws that govern medical imagers in the state of Ohio. Catherine also serves as a Site Visit Team Chair for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
Catherine provides leadership in budget planning, assessment of student learning and curriculum revision. Though her duties are primarily administrative, she does enjoy time in the classroom with students when they are enrolled in their capstone course in their last semester.

Rosemary Kerekes, M.S.,Ed. RT(R), Adjunct Faculty, graduated from Owens Community College with an AAS degree, major in Radiography. She went on to earn a master’s degree in education from the University of Toledo graduating in 1998. She is certified and registered by the ARRT and licensed by the State of Ohio. Ms. Kerekes is also a member of the ASRT. Her background includes 10 years of experience in computed tomography, cardiac catheterization and special procedures imaging. In addition she has had a year of experience in magnetic resonance imaging. She is currently employed full time at a local hospital in a supervisory position.
Rosemary has held the position of adjunct faculty at Owens Community College since 2003, working as a clinical instructor at various clinical sites with students, and most recently as a lab instructor teaching positioning and anatomy review for the radiography program. She also teaches lab lecture sessions for MIT 114.

Christine Smith, M.S.Ed. R.T. (R)(CT) Chair, Medical Imaging and Program Director for Radiologic Technology and Computed Tomography, Full-time Faculty, received her certification in radiography from St. Vincent’s Medical Center and became credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in 1987. Christine Smith went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Toledo, a Master’s Degree in Education at Capella University and became credentialed in Computed Tomography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Christine worked as a staff technologist in Radiography and Computed Tomography for 20 years. Christine is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists. She also serves as a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer for online courses.
Christine Smith enjoys teaching radiologic physics and special radiographic procedures. She also gives instruction in the advanced imaging modalities of computed tomography and MRI. Christine is a clinical instructor and in the first year laboratory classes she teaches spine, skull and trauma positioning.

Jennell Twigg, B.A., RT(R)(CT), Full-time Faculty, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toledo. She graduated with high honors from Mercy College of Northwest Ohio in 2006 with an AAS degree, major in Radiography, and became a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon passing the credentialing exam. She trained shortly after graduation in Computed Tomography, continuing on to receive her accreditation in the beginning of 2014. She is also licensed as a radiographer through the State of Ohio. She has been employed as a radiographer since 2006 in the radiography department of two local hospitals.
Jennell teaches first year radiography labs as well as assisting in the progress of written and competency testing. She teaches lab lecture sessions for RAD 111 & RAD 112. In addition, she works closely as a Clinical Instructor with some of the Medical Imaging Department students in a few of the local clinical sites.

Susan Welling, B.A., RT(R), Full-time Faculty, graduated from Owens Community College with an Associate of Applied Science major in Radiography in 1981 at which time she became credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. After working for several years in radiography she went on to complete a Bachelors of Arts degree at the University of Toledo with a concentration in upper level education and health. She is a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Susan currently teaches the lecture course that introduces several imaging modalities and the roles that medical imagers have within those modalities to the newly enrolled students. In another course, the lecture will range from successful patient communication strategies to human growth and development, through the end of life. Susan also instructs in the clinical portion of the program which involves working with students who are performing a variety of diagnostic exams.
