Program Goals and Outcomes


Program Mission

The Mission of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program sponsored by Owens Community College is to provide the healthcare community with caring, competent and professional Magnetic Resonance technologists. 1-13, Reviewed 1-15.

Goals and Student Learning Outcomes

Goal 1:      Students will be clinically competent

  Student Learning Outcomes:   

Students will demonstrate patient care skills.

Students will select appropriate imaging parameters.

Students will apply proper MR protocol selection.

 

Goal 2:      Students will utilize critical thinking skills in the performance of magnetic resonance procedures.

  Student Learning Outcomes:   

Students will analyze image quality.

Students will demonstrate MR safety procedures.

 

Goal 3:      Students will utilize communication skills with staff technologists.

  Student Learning Outcomes:  

Students will demonstrate effective verbal communication with MR Technologists.

Students will demonstrate effective written communication with MR Technologists.

 

Goal 4:      Students will demonstrate professionalism when dealing with the public.

  Student Learning Outcomes:   

Students will display courtesy when imaging patients.

Students will demonstrate professional conduct in the clinical setting.

Students will demonstrate an appreciation for service learning.

 

Goal 5:      Students will access and interpret information.

  Student Learning Outcomes:   

Students will utilize appropriate resources for assignments.

Students will analyze scholarly publications.
