Faculty and Staff



Catherine Ford, M.Ed, RT(R), Dean, graduated from Owens Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree, major Radiography in 1979 at which time she became credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Catherine joined Owens Community College in 1982 and went on to complete Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies and Masters of Education degrees at the University of Toledo. She is a member of the Association of Educators in Radiologic Sciences and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. She is also a member of the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists where she has served as co-chair of the Education Committee and participated in revising the laws that govern medical imagers in the state of Ohio. Catherine also serves as a Site Visit Team Chair for the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.

Catherine provides leadership in budget planning, assessment of student learning and curriculum revision. Though her duties are primarily administrative, she does enjoy time in the classroom with students when they are enrolled in their capstone course in their last semester.

Julie Posey, BAS, RDMS, RVT, Chair, Sonography Programs, graduated from Owens Community College in 2005 with a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and became credentialed in Abdomen and Obstetrics/Gynecology through the ARDMS shortly after graduation. While employed as a sonographer at Blanchard Valley Hospital and Fostoria Community Hospital, she cross trained into Vascular Technology and became registered as an RVT in 2009. Additionally, Julie earned a Bachelor of Applied Science from Siena Heights University in 2016. She joined Owens Community College as an adjunct faculty in 2013 starting as a clinical instructor. Julie is also a member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound.

Julie is currently responsible for the structure and daily operation of both the general and vascular sonography programs. She works collaboratively with the faculty in reviewing and developing course materials to ensure the effectiveness of the program curricula. She also works closely with the clinical coordinators toward maintaining excellent clinical experiences for students. In addition, Julie teaches lab and lecture courses on campus.

 

Makenzie Zesing, RDMS, RVT, Faculty and Clinical Education Coordinator, received her Diagnostic Medical Sonography education from Owens Community College in 2015 and became credentialed in Abdomen through the ARDMS shortly after graduation. Makenzie started her sonography career with Blanchard Valley Hospital and remained PRN once she accepted a part time position with Fostoria Community Hospital and Fremont Memorial Hospital. She joined Owens Community College as an adjunct faculty in the fall of 2017 and went on to obtain her Obestetrics/Gynecology and Vascular Technology credentials.

Makenzie works closely with the program coordinator to maintain excellent clinical experiences for the students enrolled in the general sonography program. She is responsible for coordinating clinical education and ensuring the effectiveness of the clinical affiliates. Kenzie visits students in the clinical setting and facilitates communication between students, clinical instructors, and the program coordinator. In addition, she is teaching lab and lecture courses on campus.

 

 

Abraham Ettaher, RVT, Vascular Sonography Instructor, graduated from Wayne State University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s in Biological Science. Additionally, Abe went on to earn a Degree of Medicine from St. Eustatius School of Medicine/Delphi Institute for the Healing Arts. He began working for Jobst Vascular Institute in 2003 and became credentialed through the ARDMS for Vascular Technology in 2010. Abe is currently a supervisor and education coordinator at Jobst.

In addition, he teaches the vascular lecture courses for the second year students.

 

 

Meggan Cook, RDMS, General Sonography Instructor, received her Diagnostic Medical Sonography education from Owens Community College in 2010 and became credentialed in Obstetrics/Gynecology and Abdomen through the ARDMS. Meggan has worked at hospitals and facilities throughout the Northwest Ohio area during her career as a sonographer. Meggan joined Owens Community College adjunct faculty in 2013 starting as a clinical instructor and obstetric lab supervisor. Her teaching duties include lectures, general sonography labs, obstetric lab, as well as clinical instruction.
