Belmont College and Owens Community College are collaborating to offer this unique program of study that provides the training required to succeed in information driven professions. The program focuses on Library Paraprofessional training; however, students may custom design their degree with selected Specialty Options. The program is designed to accommodate part-time and distance education students. Students must co-enroll at Belmont College and follow a specific course sequence to complete the degree.
Career Interest
Graduates of the Library Paraprofessional Specialty may become employed in a variety of library settings including public libraries; school library media centers; college and university libraries; corporate, medical and other special libraries and information centers; and other library-related businesses.
Student Learning Outcomes
Student Learning Outcomes consist of general education core competencies and an array of skill sets that are applicable to many career fields, such as business, engineering, and libraries.
Student Advisement
This degree will be granted by Belmont College. Courses in italics are offered on-line by Belmont College and must be taken through Belmont College. Students wishing to vary from the Suggested Course Sequence should work under close supervision of Department Chair and/or Advisor.
