ENV 236 - Water Quality This course will introduce the student to the importance of water quality to life, health, food, transportation, recreation and our economy. The student will recognize current issues in the US and the world regarding water supply, regulation and usage. The student will practice the biological, chemical and physical methods used to provide safe water and prevent water pollution. Assessment and protection of surface waters, source waters and watersheds will also be discussed. The laboratory includes hands on practice of water sampling and analysis techniques as well as field trips to water treatment facilities. Career opportunities in the water protection field will be explored.

Prerequisites: ENV 101 and ENV 102 and MTH 170 or equivalent
