CJS 270 - Criminal Justice Internship This course is designed to give criminal justice student a practical experience while working with criminal justice professionals in the field. Students will be assigned to a criminal justice agency where they will experience the practical application of learned classroom theory. Students will work along side criminal justice professionals in areas such as: patrol operations, criminal investigations, court appearance, corrections, probation, etc. The course will allow the student to gain hands-on experience in the field of criminal justice. The student will have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours of Criminal Justice courses and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students should be prepared to submit to a criminal background check as may be required by the criminal justice agency assigned, and further be willing to sign a waiver of liability at the agency’s request.

With assistance, students will be expected to find their own placement. Students should be prepared to submit to a criminal background check as may be required by the criminal justice agency assigned, and futher be willing to sign a waiver of liability at the agency’s request.
