SUR 102 - Surgical Technology II The working relationship with the surgical team members and operative procedures are explained. Instrumentation, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology are reviewed in relationship to general and specialty procedures including endoscopy and laser. In addition, the scientific principles of biological science and pharmacology as it relates to the surgical patient is reinforced. The rationale for use of specific drugs, their therapeutic effects and major side effects on the surgical patient, and their influence on surgical intervention as it relates to the surgical technologist’s responsibility will be covered.
Co-requisites: SUR 104
Prerequisites: BIO 212 and BIO 231 and SUR 101 and SUR 105 all with a C or better.
