Automotive Technology Information


This program equips and prepares the student with the knowledge and skills needed to compete in today’s fast-changing automotive industry. Students are taught to diagnose, correct and repair electrical, fuel, emissions and mechanical problems found in today’s modern automobile.

The instruction, course of study, facilities and equipment of this institution have been evaluated by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and meet the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence standards of quality for the training of automobile technicians in the following areas: Brakes, Electrical/ Electronic Systems, Engine Performance, Suspension & Steering, Automatic Transmission & Transaxle, Engine Repair, Heating & Air Conditioning, and Manual Drive Train & Axles.

Student Learning Outcomes

Student will be able to:

  • Diagnose and repair automatic transmissions and transaxles.

  • Diagnose and repair manual drive train and axles.

  • Diagnose and repair suspension and steering systems.

  • Diagnose and repair brake systems.

  • Diagnose and repair electrical/electronic systems.

  • Diagnose and repair heating and air conditioning systems.

  • Diagnose engine performance and repair related systems.

Career Interests

Graduates are prepared for jobs in operation, maintenance, service, testing, diagnosis and development.
